Tom has the capability to record an individual or a band in his personal studio. Yet most of his recording work is tracking drums and percussion parts to existing projects. The studio is fully sound-proofed and treated for optimized capture.
The studio holds multiple sets and individual pieces of handcrafted, custom-made drums from Bucks County Drum Company in cherry, mahogany and walnut, along with a variety of metal snare drums in raw brass, bronze, and steel, to ensure any tone or texture is achievable. In the way of percussion, Tom has over thirty different pieces including custom-built tambourines, shakers and brush-boxes from Croaker Percussion to produce the sounds required for any situation. Custom made Mongiello cymbals and vintage Zildjian cymbals are rounded out by a few Paiste and Sabian pieces.
“Tom joined me as a session drummer on an analog studio project with four other session musicians, but he quickly and naturally became the producer of the session. His seasoned ears, deep knowledge of the recording process, ability to gently direct the other musicians and studio engineers, and his easy-going confidence were essential to the success of the project.”
“I’ve worked on multiple projects with Tom over several years. He is an awesome drummer, who always brings creativity and finesse to the music. He is very professional, organized and always prepared. As a composer, I enjoy his creative input.”
